Well, sexually transmitted diseases are the disease that transfers from one person to another through the sexual contact. The contact may be because of having unprotected intercourse, oral sex, or anal sex. The disease is also known as a sexually transmitted infection. As the name says sexually transmitted disease, is not that important that it will be transmitted only through intercourse or having sex with someone. It can also be transmitted through the needles of the injection or the breastfeeding and many more ways. 

Well, there are several ways to stop this transmission. The easiest way is to use condoms. Condoms are one of the birth control devices that not only help in dealing with unwanted pregnancies but also with sexually transmitted diseases at the same time. And that’s the reason why condoms are so famous. 

Sexually Transmitted Diseases Symptoms

Every disease or infection has some symptoms and the same is with these sexually transmitted diseases. And in this particular section, we are going to see the symptoms of these sexually transmitted diseases. Below is the list of symptoms that is important to conclude that if a person is dealing with sexually transmitted diseases or not.

  • Pain in the testicles 
  • Rashes on the penis or around the vagina in the case of women. 
  • Blood from the penis or vagina in case of women
  • Not that comfortable during the sex

1. HIV

The very first disease in the sexually transmitted diseases list is HIV. The HIV sexually transmitted diseases may damage your immune system. Also, HIV may cause certain cancer too. The third stage of HIV is known as AIDs. well, there is a little confusion regarding AIDs. many people think that HIV means AIDs but that not true. AIDs is the third stage of HIV. Well, people are living with AIDs but there is no proper cure for AIDs. Well, the early symptoms of HIV are the same as the flu that makes it tougher to recognize HIV.

  • Cold
  • Aches and pains
  • Swollen lymph nodes
  • Sore throat
  • Headache
  • Nausea

Although there is no cure for HIV if we get to know about it in the early stages, we can reduce its risk of transmission of HIV with sexual partners.  

2. Gonorrhea

Gonorrhea is a type of bacterial sexually transmitted disease. It can be transferred from a mother to a newborn baby. That is why one should go for the test of sexually transmitted disease if she is pregnant. Well, generally, the people affected with Gonorrhea show no symptoms. Below are the symptoms that may found in a person when Gonorrhea is present. 

  • Different colors of discharges from the vagina.
  • Pain during sex or urination
  • Itching around vagina
  • Sore throat

3. HPV (Human pappilomavirus)

The HPV stands for the Human papillomavirus. Well, this disease is infected from skin to skin contact or through sexual contact. The human papillomavirus is of many types. Warts on the genitals, mouth, and throat are the most common.  Some types of HPV may lead to different types of cancer such as oral cancer, cervical cancer, penile cancer, penile cancer, and rectal cancer. Well, not all HPV is responsible for cancer. HPV 16 and HPV 18 are the most dangerous forms of HPV. Around 70 percent of cervical cancer is caused due to these HPV 16 and HPV 18. 

4. Trichomoniasis

Trichomoniasis is caused by a small protozoan organism that is passed through the contact of the genitals. Well, there are very few people who are affected by this disease. Below are symptoms that may be seen when a person is affected by trichomoniasis. 

  • Frequent urination. 
  • Discharge from the vagina or the penis, in the case of men. 
  • Itching around the vagina  or penis
  • Pain during the sex. 

Trichomoniasis needs to be treated by a doctor as soon as possible as if it is left untreated it may give birth to lots of issues such as infections of the urethra,  pelvic inflammatory disease, and infertility. So, therefore it is suggested to consult the doctor as soon as is possible. 

5. Pubic lice

Public lice are generaly known as crabs. In this disease, tiny insects reside in your body. They reside on your pubic hair. If the pubic lice are not treated on time, they can transmit to other people through the skin to skin contact, shared bedding, sharing clothes, and towels.   These tiny insects feed on human blood. Below are some of the common symptoms of this public lice.

  • Itching around the genitals 
  • Fever
  • Lack of energy 
  • Irritability   

6. Chlamydia

Chlamydia is the most commonly reported STD reported in America. Also, it is caused by a certain type of bacteria. Although there are no such symptoms of chlamydia, according to the people who have dealt with this issue, the common side effects are given below. 

  • Lower abdomen pain
  • Green or yellow discharge occurs from the penis or the vagina 
  • Pain during sex and 

If it didn’t get treated at a time, it can lead to many serious issues such as infections of the urethra, infertility, and pelvic disease. A pregnant woman dealing with chlamydia may pass the issue to her child too. 

7. Syphilis

Well, it is another type of bacterial infection. It is not recognized easily in its early stages. Well, later then it can be noticed as of the symptoms. And here below we are sharing some of the symptoms of syphilis.

  • Rash 
  • Fever 
  • Headaches 
  • Joint pains
  • Weight loss
  • Hair loss 

If it is not got treated at the time, it may further lead to some other issues such as vision loss, hearing loss, memory loss, heart attack even a certain death can also be caused if the Syphilis is not treated.  

8. Herpes

Also, known as the HSV that stands for Herpes simplex virus. The HSV-1 and HSV-2 are the two main types of virus. Well, both viruses can be transmitted sexually. A major number of people in America are affected by HSV-1 and HSV-2. HSV-1 can also be passed while having oral sex. HSV-2 causes genitals herpes. A pregnant woman can pass herpes to the child in the womb.
